The Early Bird

I thought I was late but managed to get to work 20 minutes early. I’ve been having trouble regulating my sleep/wake patterns–I suspect it’s narcolepsy though physical elements might be to blame. I have a doctor’s appointment Monday so I will keep you posted.

Mona Lisa is my awesome cat, named so because of her white markings across her face that look like a smile. She’s been having some issues lately so I took her to the vet. I was expecting something gastrointestinal but her diagnosis was stomatitis. Essentially she is allergic to her own saliva, causing inflammation in the gums and the digestive tract. The most effective solution is to have all but her canine teeth extracted.

I have no clue how I am going to afford it, but since steroids are already making her vomit, I think removing the teeth is the best solution. My poor Mona Lisa will have few teeth left with which to smile. Ironic or just extremely unfortunate?

Anyway I’ve heard that cats without teeth do pretty well, considering. I just feel so terrible because I can’t explain to the poor cat that they treatment is better than the alternative.

This and other personal developments have caused me to reconsider my current profession. I do enjoy my job but I’m just not making enough money to make ends meet. Especially with car repairs on the horizon and vet bills.

Do I want to stay in my hideout all day and talk to myself? Absolutely. Am I going to need a more public customer service position to support my lifestyle and keep a roof over my head? Uh-huh.

Despite my needs I still think it’s a great company to work for and would recommend it to those looking for a job.

And with that, I am off to work. Hope you are all still catching some sleep. Lord knows I could have used some more of it.
