Writing Goals

The cat woke me up like five times last night. Good thing I took some time off from work this morning. But what to do to make up for the unpaid time I’m taking?

Write, of course.

I need to start submitting to various publications in order to make some extra cheddar. And working on that book of essays. Of course. Also thinking about moving some blog entries to Patreon. This way, I can avoid using my damaged and swollen knees in some retail side gig. I also need to look up physical therapy exercises for bursitis because I can’t afford treatment.

Hoping it will lead to a writing side gig eventually. Hopefully one with a bit more variety than the last one. There were only so many ways I could find to write about my crazy.

I thought about what I would do if I suddenly won the lottery. I would write. It’s what I truly enjoy doing. I don’t think it’s too late to turn it into a full-time gig. But I need practice, not this fly-by-night stuff that I usually write.

So practice. What does that entail? Writing prompts. Assigned subjects for paid publications. Re-vamping the old portfolio in the process. Time management. Assigned writing time. Quit scrolling through Facebook and so something with your life, woman!

And more reading. Most definitely. Not the fluffy stuff either. I have at least 30 books on my shelves that I haven’t touched. I need to make reading part of the daily routine.

But for now, I must get ready for the day job. Have a lovely weekend and I’ll write more (hopefully a lot more) soon…
