Haven’t heard any news on the roommate front so, side-gig it is! I’m going to have to get serious about this writing business. I like my present job and I really don’t feel like getting a new one. I am not skilled or experienced enough to freelance full-time. But there are a few pieces I’m working on for submission. And the sarcastic romance novel is about to take wing. Other than that, I’m going to probably go the content mill route. It might pay peanuts but at least it will get me some experience.
Which means scheduling time to work extra hours on my days off and every day after work. I lack time management skills but I think if I really need to, I can swing it.
My new shrink switched up my meds which has been wonderful. I am no longer falling asleep in weird places. It seems I was suffering from some medication-related haze, where one feels restless and exhausted at the same time. I just have to make sure that less medication doesn’t equal me going off the deep end.
On the fitness front, I bought an exercise bike, which the kiddo uses more than I do. My knee has once again betrayed me (lefty this time) so I will be looking up physical therapy exercises. Ibuprofen is my new weapon of choice, and I’ll try to take walks and use the stationary bike as much as possible. Because who can actually afford physical therapy? Not I, said the fly.
Speaking of flies, at my job I am the ultimate fly on the wall. I need to write a piece about how unique the job is (without violating any federal rules, of course). I am not allowed to talk about call content. But I think I am allowed to say that a majority of my customers are delightful people and that I am exposed, on a daily basis, to a very interesting cross-section of America.
And that’s about it. About time to get ready for the said job. Catch you all on the flip side, and expect to hear more from me soon.
